Gender and Identity

Gender and identity are deeply personal parts of how we understand ourselves and move through the world. Gender Identity, expression, sex, and attraction exist on spectrums, and are uniquely individual. Human experiences of gender and attraction are diverse and valid, and everyone’s experience is their own.

People often seek therapy around identity but because they want an affirming space to explore who they are. Therapy offers a non-pathologising, non-judgemental space to reflect, make meaning, and develop a stronger sense of self, however you choose to be in the world.

As a cisgender woman, I don’t pretend to be the expert on your lived experience, and I never assume that anything about you is “wrong.” I openly acknowledge the limits of my own knowledge and privilege, approach this work with curiosity, and regularly seek supervision and ongoing learning to ensure I am providing care that is strength-based, trauma-informed, and affirming.

How We Can Work Together

  • Offer an affirming and collaborative space to explore gender and identity at your own pace

  • Recognise you as the expert in your own identity and inner world

  • Explore identity in context, including personal history, relationships, internal experiences, social, cultural, and systemic influences.

  • Support exploration of identity and meaning-making

  • Help unpack internalised messages, stigma, or shame

  • Build emotional safety and self-trust

  • Strengthen resilience in the face of non-affirming environments
